Cindy (Luyue) Zheng is a doctoral student in Nutritional Sciences with a strong interest in food system transformation and nutrition equity. She earned an MS in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN). Cindy's research focuses on exploring the intersection of public health and agriculture, particularly through the lens of dietary acculturation. Her current dissertation project aims to investigate immigrants' engagement in alternative food networks, such as community gardens, in the New England area.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Cindy has worked with the China action hub of the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) 2021 and designed online nutrition courses and food system courses for middle school students in Beijing. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, hosting podcasts in Mandarin, and practicing yoga.
